ACSS 318 Tuesday 23/6/20

Hi Everyone,

We have new (to the show) music this week from: Ben Mastwyk; Captain Stubby & The Buccaneers; Chantell Alexi; Dom Italiano; Gayle O’Neill & Andrew Swift; Heywood & Moore; Juliet Oliver; Ronnie Juodo; Robert Ross; Terry Ann Maxwell; and Vanessa Delaine.

Our Top 10 Most Requested Songs for this week are: 1. Vanessa Bourne, Lyin’ Cheatin’ Heart; 2. Andy Penkow, Chasing The Sun; 3. Della Harris, Raining On My Wedding Day; 4. Dan Higgins, Isn’t It A Shame; 5. Shelly Jones Band, Who Was The Dancing Man; 6. Melissa Robertson, Wouldn’t Be Without You; 7. The Silverline, Home Sweet Homeless; 8. Gareth Leach & Michaela Jenke, My Crime; 9. Mitch Dean, A Face In A Long Line; and 10. Jed Zarb, Stay For A While.

Our Featured Artist this week, Vanessa Delaine, has a new album out called One Girl Band-25 Years, and we will be playing three songs from the album, in the second hour of the show.

Our Flashback Track from the 2018 play list for the show will be from Dave Prior & Jon O’Dea; our Featured Instrumental will be from Lindsay Waddington; for our Featured International Artist, we’ll be going back to the 1940s. One of our Sydney listeners, Lin Golab, has sent us a song called Kiss Kiss Kissin’ in the Corn, which was written by her father, Ernie Davidson and his co-writer, Ken Taylor in 1946. It was recorded in December 1947 at Majestic Studios in New York by US band, Captain Stubby & The Buccaneers. This was the first Australian song to reach the American market, and Tuesday will be the first time that it has been played on Australian air waves in the 70+ years since it was released; then, our Featured Indigenous Artist will be Aimee Hannan.

Our Emerging Talent segment will feature songs from Juliet Oliver; Jake Davey; and Jacinta & Amelia Scacchitti.

Our Country Ballads segment will feature songs from Peter Smokie Dawson; Brian Stitt and Lloyd Back.

So, the play list will be:

First Hour: Jed Zarb; Mitch Dean; Gareth Leach & Michaela Jenke; The Silverline; Melissa Robertson; Shelly Jones Band; Dan Higgins; Della Harris; Andy Penkow; Vanessa Bourne; Gayle O’Neill & Andrew Swift; Lucille; Ian Burns; and Robert Ross.
